An easy and straightforward build allowed me to add another kit to my collection of captured planes. The Ki-61 was one of the main types of the Japanese Army Air Force and was thus deployed on the battlefields of the Philippines and New Guinea, as well as for the home defense duties. The Hien was the only mass-produced Japanese fighter to be powered by the liquid-cooled Ha-40 engine, which was the German DB-601Aa manufactured under licence.

Building the Tamiya A6M3 is really a pleasure. I consider it as the best 1/72 kit ever. The marking depicts Zero V-187, Houkoku 870, Tainan Kokutai found at the Buna Airport scrapyard, in 1942.

The P-47 M was the fastest subversion of the famous Thunderbolt plane. I picked a very nice Tamiya kit and did a little conversion there.

Special Hobby Me-109E-1 red 16 is the plane of 2/JG-26 by Obrlt. Fritz Losigkeit. Tamiya is the Me-109E-4 from III/JG-3 assigned to Lt. Egon Troha, the pilot with Austrian roots. The plane was named “Grace” according to a daughter of a general consul of Santa Domingo who worked in Vienna.
