Read moreThe Mirage IV surprised me with its interesting history. Unfortunately, another surprise related to the quality of the kit was not so nice. I built a very imperfect model, but I am still happy with it. The Mirage collection now includes another technically and historically significant aircraft.
Read moreI built the following models in honor of the recently passed away Mr. Shunsaku Tamiya. The first kit represents the plane of 551st FS, 495th FG. It belonged to Lieutenant General William E. Kepner. Kepner commanded the 8th Fighter Command from September 1943. The second P-47, nicknamed “Sleepy Time Gal”, comes from the Pacific theater.
Read moreThe CASA C-212 is one of the well-known smaller transport aircraft with STOL. For the markings, I chose the very attractive CASA C-212-300 of the Argentine Coast Guard (Prefectura Naval Argentina).
Read moreThe Bearcat had a similar fate to the FH-1 Phantom from the previous article. It was too late for the war with Japan and did not see deployment in the Korean conflict, even though it was the fastest US NAVY piston fighter. The Hobby Boss kit is a very simple so called ” bonbonniere” but surprisingly pretty good.
Read moreMcDonnell FH-1 Phantom is not one of the famous types that were produced in large numbers. Special Hobby’s kit is the only one available on the market and it is a very nice short run.

Read moreNice sandy colours on Mig 15 UTI from Eduard and Fouga Magister from Special Hobby led me in to Algeria. The Mig-15 UTI is a plane (probably a Czech built one) in colours dated in year1984. The Fouga Magister has early 80’s marking.
Read moreAn easy and straightforward build allowed me to add another kit to my collection of captured planes. The Ki-61 was one of the main types of the Japanese Army Air Force and was thus deployed on the battlefields of the Philippines and New Guinea, as well as for the home defense duties. The Hien was the only mass-produced Japanese fighter to be powered by the liquid-cooled Ha-40 engine, which was the German DB-601Aa manufactured under licence.
Read moreExcited about the CS-199 build I didn’t hesitate to put a new tool released Bf-109 F made by Eduard on my workbench. The first look of unboxed kit suggested it is the best best Bf-109 F in the 1/72 scale.
Read moreI managed to finish another Hurricane in 1/72 scale. Arma Hobby is really the best kit of this famous plane in 72 scale. The camouflage represents one of the twelve Hurricanes delivered to Romania operating by the famous Escadrille 53.
Read moreBuilding the Tamiya A6M3 is really a pleasure. I consider it as the best 1/72 kit ever. The marking depicts Zero V-187, Houkoku 870, Tainan Kokutai found at the Buna Airport scrapyard, in 1942.
