Yakovlev Yak-130 1/72 Zvezda
In the past, there were not many kit options for this nice 5th generation training plane in 1/72. Therefore it was a must-have for me, when Zvezda released its Yak-130 kit.
Until then, the only option was the not-so-hi-end quality A-Model kit. Zvezda kit has a perfect fit, so the build was pleasant, with one big downside though – I had to rescribe all the very shallow panel lines – a thing I am not very good at. I also added missing pitot tubes in the front fuselage. The camouflage pattern is done based on real photos of Belarusian planes. I wanted to build more pieces of this kit, but that panel line issue holds me back a bit.
Well Done !
Medium Rare !
Hi. Very nice build! I’m building the 1/48 version at the moment and I’m looking for the color scheme (numbers) to use. Can you please share which paint you used for the main green and grey colors?
Thanks!!
Hello Erik,
I used my personal mix of acrylics Tamiya paints. It is difficult to asses exact mix ratio or even paint numbers, because I used some remnants from previous painting session. Basically I have used XF-53, white and to adjust tint XF-21, XF-52 for grey colours. The greens are basically from XF-3, X4, X14 tint is adjusted by using XF-21, White and grey.
I wish you good luck with your build,
David
